A University of Colorado obesity expert says to "Walk it Off."
Buy a pedometer, even the cheap ones will do...and start walking.
Buy a pair of boots that 'are made for walking' if you must. But, get out there and walk...walk....walk.
Start at about 2000 steps a day (a mile or so) and add 500 steps each week until you get to 11,000-12,000 steps (takes about 90 minutes.)
Try walking whenever you are the phone....just watch where you are going.
Walk during TV commercials. Better yet, skip the TV altogether and walk.![]()
Park far away...pace while you are thinking...walk in the mall, at the outdoor shopping center, while you watch the game...
just move your feet. The natural tendency, of course, is to want to get the whole walking thing done sooner each day and to pick up the pace = jog, then run.
At any rate...moving yourself about, on your own two feet under your own power is another way to work the pounds off says UC.
How much do you walk each day?
