Clothing and accessories - $7.41 billion
Laptops, digital cameras, iPhones, cell phones - $12.8 billin
Shoes - $2.96 billion
School supplies - $3.14 billion![]()
Textbooks - $15 billion
Most shopping will be done at:
1. college bookstores (57.2%).
2. department stores (41.8%)
3. office supply stores (35.6%)
4. clothing stores (34.3%)
5. electronic stores (20.9%)
6. Online - 33%
Students will be living:
1. at home (49.7%)
2. off campus housing (28.6%)
3. in dormitories (18.7%)
4. somewhere else (1.3%) - fraternity, sorority house
Freshmen will spend the most - $1,193.60
