It doesn't matter that the "Queen of Mean" Leona Helmsley has grandchildren that could use some, a pittance even, of the billions of dollars she leaves behind or that students everywhere would gladly walk her dog, Trouble, if she could help with their tuition....the dog got the bulk of her money - $12 million.
Helmsley died earlier this month.
$12 million is enough to send 300 kids to a top notch college for four years each.
Instead, her Maltese will
get the money and ...I don't know. What can a dog do with $12 million? Her brother got a few million as long as he takes care of the dog.
Two grandchildren got millions as well as long as they visit their father's grave...(Jay already died.) I guess you can buy love...or at least make people pretend they have it.
Two other grandchildren got nothing "for reasons that are known to them" but not to the rest of us.
Her residences, worth billions will be sold off and the money given to the Leona M. and Harry B. Helmsley Charitable Trust.
An employee of Helmsley quoted her as snarling "Only the little people pay taxes."
Yeah...that's right. Only us little people pay taxes.
The rich waste their money on their dogs and end up buried next to them...in a mausoleum that gets 'washed and steam-cleaned at least once a year."
Maybe...just maybe somebody will inadvertently leave the cover off her coffin and blow her ashes away, too.
Queen of Mean AND stupid, indeed.
What's the most money you ever wasted on a pet.
