Swiss researchers think they have succeeded in mimicking the phenomenon known as out-of-body experience.
The researchers think they can explain what is going on scientifcally. Of course, they had to go out-of-body to do it.
The journal, Science, has published two findings, one by the Swiss and one by the Swedes, done separately that say the phenomenon results from the brain gettings its wires crossed when processing sensory information.
That happens to me all the time and I do NOT get to go out-of-body. What's up with that?![]()
The laboratory for cognitive neuroscience at Lausanne's Federal Institute of Technology rigged up volunteers with reality googles showing a 3-D image of their body standing right in front of them and then manipulated and tricked in various experiments.
The researchers are saying that even healthy subjects can experience the sensation; that is not an over active imagination or some sort of paranormal phenomenon.
Meanwhile...somebody, somewhere in Las Vegas is probably trying to figure out how to make money off of doing this to people.
Have you ever experienced an out-of-boyd sensation? Or know someone who has?
