"Mom, I think I'm going to quit college," said Matt putting on his Alex Rodriquez jersey.
"Oh, dear. Then, what will you do with your life?" asked mom a sigh.
"I'm gonna chase records. Be famous. Make a million or more."
"That's nice, honey. Having dreams is important."
How many people can fit into the bleachers in right field of AT&T stadium anyway?
A couple of thousand?
Those are good odds to make a million+ as long as Barry Bonds
doesn't send the ball overhead into the drink - McCovey Cove.Bond's didn't hit it out. Instead, college student Matt Murphy caught Barry Bond's 756th home run ball and broke a record while doing so - the biggest record broken without a lawsuit attached. Bloodied and still befriended by a friend who has been promised 49% of whatever he gets...Matt Murphy was escorted away by San Francisco's finest. (all of them missed the rest of the game.)
A Queen's native on his way to Australia dropped in to see the game and went out with a prize. (How did he get tickets on such short notice?)
Perhaps he will reconsider the trip down under and just hang around the ball fields - Ken Griffey will go after 600. Jim Thome and Manny Ramirez - 500. There's some bucks to be made sitting in the bleachers eating hotdogs IF you are lucky.
And the odds of making a million, are probably better than had he finished his college degree, no?
