Cooperative research was conducted with a professor of Hokkaido University, Futaba Industrial Co and Ito Racing Service Co.
Hrein Energy and the others developed a small cylindrical reactor made of aluminum (1.5' tall by 6" diameter) for recovering hydrogen and installed it on a vehicle powered by a small 50cc engine.
Next year the system will be tested on a compact car.
The following year, American car makers will be even further behind Japanese automakers.
