What do Dallas Mavericks owner, Mark Cuban, welterweight boxing champ Floyd Mayweather Jr. and Las Vegas headliner Wayne Newton have in common?
Answer - none of them are in the news for what they are doing for education...despite there being billions of dollars at their disposal...mostly at Mark Cuban's disposal.
Add to them the rest of the field:
• Melanie Brown, aka "Scary Spice" and Mel B.
• Sabrina Bryan of Disney Channel's "Cheetah Girls."
• Indianapolis champion Helio Castroneves.
• Actress Jennie Garth ("Beverly Hills, 90210").
• Model-actress Josie Maran.
• Soap star Cameron Mathison of "All My Children".
• Singer Marie Osmond.
• Model Albert Reed.
• Actress Jane Seymour of "Dr. Quinn, Medicine Woman.
And, what do you have? A program filled with 12 people of which I have only of three of them and might be able to pick out of a crowd.
Wayne Newton must be older than Moses. Marie Osmond can sing but won't she throw something out if she dances? And Mark Cuban? Isn't he busy buying the Chicago Cubs? When does he have time to dance?
Why doesn't somebody come up with a program - "Educating the stars"?
Wouldn't it be fun to watch them give answers to questions like -
"Why can't Americans find the United States on a map?"
Though it would be hard to beat South Carolina's Miss Teen USA's answer.
