A 14-year old boy was suspended for three days because he drew a stick figure pointing a gun on an index card with the word "eek" in a bubble above his head.
The parents decided the boy was the target and not another stick figure or anyone a stick figure might represent.
"They have been bullying my son and other kids," said the dad. He would know that, maybe, because he is at the school all the time?
"He's scared to go to school," said mom. Yeah, other stick figures might come
after him.
School officials say, they just wanted to teach the boy to behave properly.
Though asked several times to put the cards away...he wouldn't comply.
"We elected to err on the side of caution instead of having to explain something that is far worse later," said a school official. Does that mean the school is admitting an error?
Don't tell the lawyer.
Schools are jumpy these days, and probably rightfully so.
Before long, kids will have to go straight to school, learn something and go straight home.
Wouldn't that be a crime?
