Members of the California Live Oak Foundation moved into a group of trees on Dec. 2nd.
UC Berkeley, reaping the benefits of the counter-culture mindset it helped create in the 60s, got permission to fence the knuckleheads in.
A judge has ruled that the university cannot begin construction on the site of a new Berkeley stadium BUT, the university can put up the fence to keep
football fans away from the demonstrators.I think the demonstrators should face the football fans...but nobody asked me.
The judge said, "It is well established that property owners and governmental entities may establish reasonable time, place and manner restrictions on the exercise of free speech."
It is also well established that if a sentence has the word tree sitter in it, on one end or the other it will be tied to Cal Berkeley.
Do you think trees need protecting?
