The Minnesota National Guard sent 2600 members to Iraq.
They served there longer than any other ground combat unit - 729 days.
They came back one day short of the number of days needed to be elibile for expanded educational benefits under the GI Bill.
The difference is $500-800 a month in educational benefits.
The Army is checking into it and has promised to fix it...whatever that may be.
Presently, ALL members are promised they will get their full benefits by January
8th.I don't know about the Army, but I served in the Navy and one thing I did come away with was that the US military took care of their people.
I don't suppose this will be any different...it will just take a while.
Do you think the US Military would intentionally wrong their service members?
