Pamela Reid was named president of Saint Joseph College in Connecticut.
Her husband, Irvin D. Reid, is president of Wayne State University.
Alice Ilchman led Sarah Lawrence College while her husband Warren Ilchman led the Pratt Institute in the 90s.
University of Pennsylvania president, Judith Rodin married Paul Verkuil, a former president of the College of William and Mary in 1994.
Down under, Margaret Gardner was named vice chancellor (the equivalent title to
president) of RMIT University, shortly after her husband, Glyn Davis, assumed the post at Melbourne University in 2005.
Looks like my wife married the wrong person. No chance of that happening in my lif.
The Reids are the first African-American couple to have such a joint arrangement.
