A sophomore student at Mukogawa Women's University went to Hawaii as an exchange student.
During a visit with the son of a man who collected a Japanese post card sent from a WWII Battlefront 64 years previously the student was given the card and delivered it to its intended recipient.
This might have something to do with why Japan Post is going to go private, or at least a contributing factor.
A Japanese soldier mailed the postcard from a Southeast Asian battlefront - Burma.
The recipient was an 80-year old retiree in Japan's southwest prefecture of Kochi. The sender was a 23 year old soldier.
The card went to Nagasaki, Arizona, Hawaii, the moon probably and well...finally to its destination.
Oh and the check. It's in the mail.
I SENT THAT, dang it.
Wait a half century, it'll show up.
