Talia Balsam apparently broke George Clooney's heart badly enough that he now has a standing bet with Michelle Pfeiffer that he will never marry again.
Should he...he will have to pony up $100,000, pocket change for him.
My bet is that not only George Clooney, but most anyone would be glad to put up $100,000 to find someone they could stay married to for life.
With divorce rates the way they are, it seems any walk down the aisle is a gamble.
And, I have yet to meet any couple who took the plunge, called their friends
together, rented a church, a preacher, planned a honeymoon and stood before friends and families making a promise they weren't sure they could keep -
"Do you guys promise to stay married forever and ever?" asks the preacher.
"Well, I think 'I do,'"he said
"Uh, me, too. I'll give it my best shot," she said.
I wonder, how much would you pay if you knew the man and woman you were committing to was doing the same...until death parted you?
