Korean women are challenged as well when it comes to being a successful career woman.
A local economic think tank (Korean Local) thought it through, considered salary gaps, sexual harassment issues in the office and came up with some ideas.
Men make about 30% more than women in Korea and about two out of every five ladies say they have experienced some sort of sexual harassment at work.
The LG Economic Research Institute (LGERI) has seven tips:
1. Have a pioneering mindset and be optimistic. You may be the first to do it.
2. Show professionalism. Just because your family comes first, it doesn't have
3. Don't be too modest. Blow your own horn when necessary.
4. Befriend men. Uh...why not just make friends, smooze with the right people?
5. Find a mentor... Connections, connections....
6. Take off the superwoman cape. Men make sacrifices, too.
7. Don't be afraid to quit...not trying to be a success but in the job where you are. It might be a dead end.
What do you think it takes to be a successful career woman?
