Boarding Schools are recruiting Chinese from overseas.
An education fair hosted by a group of 72 well-known boarding schools (St. Margaret's School, The Webb Schools and The Trinity-Pauling School) among others from the United States, Switzerland and Canada was held to recruit Chinese students.
Chinese families have money and are more willing and able to send their children abroad to study,
Facts from the Association of Boarding School (TABS)
1. in 1997 only 60 middle and primary students applied to study abroad.
2. since 2001, the number has grown to more than 1,500.
The United States has some 350 boarding schools with about 90,000 students...of the 20,000,000 students nationwide.
Kids? Overseas?
What about homesickness? What about growing up to be like mom & dad?
I prefer to keep my kids nearby, especially during the formative years.
