I booked a Southwest Vacations package to attend the Blogworld Expo in Las Vegas last week.
This is not a rant. Had I written a day or two ago, maybe then it would have been a rant.
Now, it's a calm observation, one I feel strongly enough about that I am still writing this.
Yeah, I know that I get what I pay for.
Three things I did NOT want to NOT pay for.
1. It took me longer to get from the Las Vegas airport to my hotel than it did to get from the Bay Area of San Francisco to Las Vegas.
Had I known the geography of the city better, indeed I could have walked it faster to my hotel than the time it took the shuttle bus to get me there.
2. The hotel hit me with resort fees - $5/night. And the reason Southwest didn't tell me this was coming is still a mystery.
3. The return shuttle did NOT pick me up, left me sitting there for an hour until I had to chase them down and listen to them try to lie their way out of it.
Southwest Vacations to Blogworld Expo next year? No way!
But, then I don't plan to attend Blogworld either, unless things change.
But, that's another post.
What has been your experience with vacation packages?
