A Tokyo University research group has developed a "magic carpet."
No kidding....but not the Alibaba kind, unfortunately.
The user/wearer gets the feeling of walking around in a virtual reality when s/he wears a small camera that is fitted to the waist on a specially marked paper carpet.
Paper carpet? And how long will it last we wonder?
When the wearer moves about on the carpet s/he will see a virtual world - changes in the background of a city are generated by computer graphics.
Stretching and bending can also create changes.
The creators see uses for the device in games and virtual worlds like Japan's Second Life.
How about if I fail my finals, will I get another try in another world?
