A Tokyo University research group has developed a "magic carpet."
No kidding....but not the Alibaba kind, unfortunately.
The user/wearer gets the feeling of walking around in a virtual reality when s/he wears a small camera that is fitted to the waist on a specially marked paper carpet.
Paper carpet? And how long will it last we wonder?
When the wearer moves about on the carpet s/he will see a virtual world - changes in the background of a city are generated by computer graphics.
Stretching and bending can also create changes.
The creators see uses for the device in games and virtual worlds like Japan's Second Life.![]()
How about if I fail my finals, will I get another try in another world?
How much time to you spend in virtual worlds?
I have a hard enough time in the real world.
