Time managment is a problem for many, right up with there with not having enough money to go around.
Three huge obstacles to time management -
1. Having too much time - . “What’s the big deal?” You’ll sign up for all the classes you need. Going to them will be the challenge. You’ll join intramural sports, the band or some other college activity. You might even get enough sleep; for a while. The challenge will be making the most of your time.
2. Transitioning to making your own decisions - For many new college students the transition from a structured life to one where you make all your own decision can be quite difficult. Nobody tells you when to get up, what to eat, when you should be home and where your clean clothes are.
3. Parents aren’t around anymore - no one is there anymore to make sure you are where you should be and when, even loosely. The ‘senior’ is a ‘freshman’ again. College can be fun but it is also the beginning of your adult life. It is learning what it takes to get on in the real world.
Forget about the school load, just making the adjustment to being on your own, though you may not be paying for it, is a big learning experience, too big for some.
How well do you manage your time?
