Honda's Fundamental Technology Research Center wants an Asimo on every street corner by the end of the next decade.
Asimo roborts can work in pairs now.
One will bring you tea while the other gets your slippers for you.
Honda has created a system that links the robots together so they can share info about where each other is and what each other is doing.
Asimo is supposedly getting 'smarter' too.
It can navigate people better.
Honda, Toyota, Hitachi Ltd., Fujitsu Ltd. and NEC Corp., are all developing robots at Tokyo's urging...to make up for the impending labor shortage, no doubt.
Asimo stands for Advanced Step in Innovative Mobility. It's also a play on the Japanese word for legs - ashi or asi. mo = also.
Asimo can walk, jog, wave and carry on simple conversations.
But can he write blogs for me, do my homework, finish this project?
What would you like a robot to do for you?
