Brigham Young University (BYU) did a study of 813 college students from six schools in the USA.

What they learned -  

No mystery...men were more likely (86%) to view porn than women (31%).

Porn viewers were also more likely to binge drink and have multiple sex partners = contract STDs.

Furthermore...it's readily available. No need to ask someone to hand it over from behind the counter.

Young women thought looking at porn was acceptable (50%). Their fathers (37%) and mothers (20%) didn't so readily think so. 

The solution - good communication between parents and their kids. Just be sure the kids who think it's okay to look are talking to the moms and dads who think it isn't.
