China has set up 210 non-profit Confucius Institutes worldwide.
The move started in 2004 as part of the 'building of a harmonious society' through individual self-refinement in manners and taste.
The heads of those institutes are calling for the institutes to be built into a "world-acknowledged brand."
"We should strengthen cooperation to build up a world acknowledged brand of Confucius Institute, to better promote Chinese language and culture," says the president of Rutgers State University.
The vice-chancellor of University of Nairobi of Kenya says " the founding of Confucius Institutes met the demand of surging worldwide enthusiasm for Chinese language and culture."
The Confucious Institutes are considered "cultural export."
Beijing Foreign Studies University says China is speeding up the assist process.
Hmmm...I wonder, will China accept Jesus Institutes if they are non-profit?
