East Europe is tearing down borders.

It's the way things should be...making nine nations freely accessible to the people of each country, that is, no passports.

"The free movement of people is one of the main rights of human beings," says the European Commission.

Some say the pulling down of the walls is a sign of the continent overcoming the Cold War.

Others are saying they are afraid of increased crime and illegal immigration.

People can now travel from Estonia to Lisbon (2,500 miles) without any border controls.

Japan's first astronaut to travel into space aboard a space shuttle said on that trip, "I can see no country borders from up here."

Indeed, no borders is the way things should be.

No fear of crime, no fear of illegal immigration, no fear...is the way it should be, too.
