If only Robert Hawkins had met Richard Carlson before the author of "Don't Sweat the Small Stuff" died today and before the former rained down bullets on a happy shopping crowd at the Westroads Mall in Omaha.
Richard Carlson's book has been around for awhile. But, I just picked up a copy about a month ago at a used book store.
The teachings are simple. Don't sweat it. Take it easy. Leave your gun at home. Don't go to the mall angry with a loaded gun. Chill. Relax.
My bet is that Robert Hawkins didn't have a copy of the book on his nightstand.
The book would have made a great early Christmas present for Hawkins. An even better one had he read and heeded it.
Richard Carlson died today. I'm glad it didn't happen at a mall in Omaha, NE.
Merry Christmas.
