Buddha can't do it all alone. He needs help from time to time...think year end, in Japan.

After Sutras were read, priests donned masks and got out hair and tooth brushes as well as dusters to clean the cobwebs off Buddha in Nara.

The Shaka Sanzonzo, a Japanese national treasure, also got a good cleaning.

Some 10 priests and workers gave Buddha his annual cleaning at the Horyuji

As for me, I prefer a God who can clean, not one who needs to be cleaned.
