I have to get after my kids from time to time.
But this knucklehead in Canada was charged $85,000!!!
The 22-year old signed up for Bell Canada's cell phone service at $150 a month with unlimited Web Browsing.
Yeah, he can browse all he wants AND pay by the kilobit for downloads. The cell phone company didn't tell him that part.
He used the phone as a modem to download a lot of data, including HD movies and such.
The guy said that the company had cut off his phone before for going $100 over, but this time, "nobody bothered to give me a call and tell me what was going on."
Instead...as a measure of goodwill the company adjusted his bill and will charge home ONLY $3,243.
How about a cell phone bill for ONLY $3,243?

I heard about this story...people really should get in the habit of asking the right questions. When I got the instructions for using my phone as a modem, I made sure I asked if there would be any additional charges such as the $/KB downloaded. Lesson from this story: Read the fine print and ask questions.
