People in London have found that the following four life style elements add on average 14 years to how long they live.
1. Drink moderately. Repeat after me, moderately.
2. Exercise.
3. Quit Smoking
4. Eat five servings of fruit and vegetables each day.
"These results may provide further support for the idea that even small differences in lifestyle may make a big difference to health in the population and encourage behavior change," the researchers wrote in the journal PLoS Medicine.
The lifestyle change that gave the biggest benefit was to give up smoking.
After that, eating fruits and vegetables.
Moderate drinking and keeping active brought the same benefits, said the University of Cambridge and the Medical Research Council.
Gosh, go to the gym, have a beer....about the same benefit.
Well, then.
Which would you choose?
