I forgot.
It slipped my mind.
I just wasn't paying attention.
Aren't there other ways to say you just dropped the ball.
How about these 5 words?
1. default - failure to do something required. If you don't show up, you will lose by default.
2. heedless - inattentive, careless. If the clerk inputs your information heedless of the proper sequence, there is likely to be problems later.
3. inadvertent - thoughtless, careless mistakes. The sportscaster made an inadvertent remark about Tiger Woods and lynchin.
4. remiss - careless, lax. The man was remiss in leaving his bag unattended.
5. sloven - slipshod, sloppy. You would not expect someone so rich to be so sloven in appearance.
