
The secretary of the California Health and Human Services Agency said that smoking inside vehicles makes the air 10 times more toxic that the federal government says is hazardous for breathing.
Children who are exposed to secondhand smoke have a greater risk of:
1. asthma
2. ear infections
3. bronchitis
Infants also are especially susceptible to secondhand smoke.
Parents without enough sense to monitor themselves in LA now must abide by another law "Smoke-free Cars with Minors" law.
Drivers cannot light up in a car if they are carrying children.
The fine - $100.
The fine is NOT high enough.
