I had to take a very important test once when I was in the Navy to be eligibile to go to school for a promotion.
I should have studied, however, it didn't cross my mind to do that. Instead, I just went.
Turned out that half of the test was vocabulary words.
I didn't know a lot of words, but having studied a foreign language in high school, another in college and yet another in grad school, I knew the roots of a lot of different words. I also knew the prefixes and suffixes.
I passed. I got promoted. And, it made all the difference in my Navy career and my life.
Just because I knew some words?
Yep. (Yep was not one of them) Just because I knew the parts of some words.
Over the next fews days I want to list up some words that are formed by adding different prefixes.
Feel free to jump in and add on.
