
OVER - too, excessively, beyond
There is an overabundant number of words that use the prefix OVER.
overbearing - bossy, domineering. As soon as she was promoted to department head she became overbearing.
overburden - overtax, overload, place too heavy a load. I don't want to overburden you with too many requests.
overconfident - excessively sure of oneself. Overconfidence caused the team to lose the less skilled bunch.
overdose - take too much of a medication. She died from an overdose.
overestimate - overvalue, overrate. We overestimated the ability of the contractor to deliver.
overgenerous - too openhanded, giving too liberally. A 20% tip is a bit overgenerous for such service.
overshadow - overcloud, obscure. His overall performance overshadowed the one misstep.
overwhelm - overpower, overthrow, crush. Their defense overwhelmed the offense of the poorer team.
