Latin Prefixes - AB, A, ABS - from, away, off

abduct - kidnap. The little girl was abducted by two crazy drunks.
abhor - detest, loathe, hate. He took extra classes because he abhorred the idea of taking summer classes.

abscond - flee, escape. The CEO absconded with the capital investment.
absolve - exculpate, exonerate, declare free of guilt. The driver was absolved of any guilt for the crime.
