The man and the woman, Adam and Eve, sinned. They succumbed to their desires, ate the fruit, satisfied their senses, chose pleasure over obedience.
The result was shame.
They realized they were naked.
They made efforts to cover themselves up.
Fig leaves proved to be inadequate to hide their wrongdoing.
The man and the woman couldn't go back and undo the wrong they did.
Ever felt shame? Guilt?
I have indeed. It's because I had done something wrong.
Sadly, wrong is alive and well, and it's called sin. The sooner we humans figure that the harm we bring upon ourselves is largely the result of our own sins, the sooner we can start making corrections.
