College Park's Woodward Academy President, Hank Payne, was found dead in a hotel in Midtown Atlanta.
The 60-year old "great man, visionary, leader and loyal friend" was 60-years old and too young to wake up dead right before the classes of the new year were to begin.
1. A PhD in History from Yale University where he also earned a bachelor's and masters,
2. a professor of history at Colgate University from 1973-1985
3. provost of Haverford College from 1985-1986
4. president of Hamilton College in NY from 1988-1993
5. president of Williams College from 1994-1999
6. president of Woodward Academy from 2000-till yesterday
The death is being investigated. He was found dead in a hotel in Midtown Atlanta.
I wonder why?
Is it because he is young?
Is it because he was found in Atlanta?
Or, do inquiring minds just want to know?

Woodward Academy Mourns Loss of Leader, Friend
Woodward president Dr. Hank Payne passed away Monday afternoon in midtown Atlanta. There are no words to sufficiently express the Academy’s sympathy for his wife Deborah and family.
The school has flourished over the past seven years under Dr. Payne’s leadership. We have become a community in every sense. Now our community faces the most difficult of tasks – to mourn a great man, a visionary leader and a loyal friend.
We can honor his memory best by continuing to strive for excellence today and every day – in the classroom and in all other areas of life at Woodward and in the Atlanta community.
