Despite the fact that the man and the woman tried to excuse their way out of the predicament they got themselves in, God came up with a plan to get them out of it.
It wasn't an immediate plan or something that even they might see in their own lifetimes. But, it was the promise of deliverance.
The serpent/snake received a curse. Its feet were taken away and the rest of its days were going to spent crawling in the dust.
Hatred and hostility were going to be present between the serpent, the devil and the woman, and between one who came after them. A battle was going to take place.
The serpent was going to inflict pain on the heel of a male descendent of the
woman. (Yesterday at the hospital, the doctor took blood from our newborn by pricking the baby's heel. She cried; he took blood. Life went on.) The serpent was going to hurt the male see, but not permantly.
The male seed of the woman was going to crush the head of the serpent, that is, kill his effectivness for all time.
From the beginning of time, mankind has created a predicament that separates them from the Creator. From the beginning of time there is been path to salvation from that predicament.
What the people of the world need in their worldview more than anything perhaps is HOPE of deliverance.
The HOPE has always been there.
