A Guadagnini is a fiddle that was made in 1772.

David Garrett is a 26-year old who was carrying the fiddle over his shoulder in a case when it fell down a concrete flight of stairs.

"When I opened the case, much of my G.B. Guadagnini had been crushed," said Garrett.

The plan is to fix it. But if that can't be done. Insurance! "To buy another great violin," he says.
