I thought about homeschooling some 20+ years ago when my kids were little and it was time for them to get an education.
The short of it was, they ended up in public school, but we were overseas at the time and it seemed to me that being educated in a foreign school would be better than anything my wife or I could teach them at home.
In retrospect, I think we were right. Both of my boys are completely bi-cultural.
But...God decided it was worth me thinking about again. 25+ years after my first boy was born, and 22+ years after the second, little sis is here. To be sure, it'll be another 5-6 years before we have to decide whether she will go to public school, be homeschooled or some combination of the two.
I've been reading around. doing some legwork, virtually, of course about homeschooling.
Today, I came across the blog Why Homeschool.
Seems it is written by a family, including grandma.
Here's a link to their Intro to Homeschooling.
What is it, Why do it, and How to are addressed.
But, what I found that I think will keep me quite busy, at least until my little girl needs to go to school five years from now, is a list of about 136 other homeschool blog.
Is there really that much to say?
Why Homeschool says in the first post I come across - Fear of crime means more children are taught at home.
Increased safety of a home based education is definitely a benefit.
Yeah. I suppose that if my little girl never went out of the house, she would be safe... that is, until the inevitable day that she finally must go out of the house.
What then?
