All Abilene Christian University freshmen will be receive an Apple iPhone or Apple iPod touch coming this fall.

The devices will be used to:

1. receive homework alerts,

2. answer in-class surveys and quizzes,

3. get directions to their professors' offices,

4. check their meal and account balances

among 15 some other useful web applications.

Some 93% of ACU freshmen bring their own PCs to college. ACU CIO says the college will take the students to a new level - providing converged mobile devices.

ACU hopes this innovation will be pleasing to its 4,700 students from 60 nations and almost every state.

Apple surely will be happy.

Have the students check their statements when they pay their tuition and school fees and such.

ACU is NOT giving these things away.
