California has a racial achievement gap, says the San Jose Mercury News.
Even Blacks and Latinos who are not poor can't keep up with Whites and Asians who are.
So what?
The result is fewer Blacks and Latinos finish school.
Overall - 69% of students in California finish. (Just 69%? Am I the only one who thinks this is low.
Asians - 82%
Whites - 76%
Latinos - 57%
Blacks - 55%
In the next 8 years, Latinos are expected to make up 55.5% of CA's population. Over half of the population will be Latino and barely half will finish secondary school.
Trouble's brewing.
The White population percentage is expected to drop to 24.4% from nearly 50% in 1990.
Asians and Black percentage will not significantly change.
Trouble is indeed brewing, no?
