White boys don't want to go to university is what a study concluded in England. Asians and blacks are more apt to go than their white teenage counterparts. Blacks go at a rate of 18%. Asians go at a rate of 25.4%. Chinese (yeah, I know they are Asian) go at a rate of 22.7%. White boys of working class men were 8.5 times LESS likey to go than black and Asian middle-calss women. Men make up about 35% of the university population. Women are 45%. The other 20% are anybody's guess I suppose. Researchers are saying that boys generally give up on higher education aspirations at a much younger age, even planning to drop out of school at the age of 16. And, I thought that America was a higher education challenged bunch. Britain really has its hands full.
