President Bush addressed the US Air Force Academy Graduation at Falcon Stadium.
He made points. We know he needs them.
Point 1 - He recognized how hard it was for the USAF grads to get where they were - surviving the "Beast", eating meals at attention, carrying boulders...oh, and he forgot to mention how hard they had to study. But, we get that.
Point 2 - The Academy's tradition of honor had taken a hit and needed restoring. It was.
Point 3 - History is worth remembering. A WWII memorial was dedicated, 60 years after the fact. President Eisenhower was remembered.
Point 4 - US goals are the same now as always - secure our nation and defend peace.
Point 5 - Free peoples are stronger than murderous ideologies, totalitarian movements, terrorists and any other aggressive regime that would challenge them.
Point 6 - Threats cause us to dig in. Al Qaeda says - "We have the right to kill four million Americans -- two million of them children.." and ""We choose death, while you choose life." Americans say "Give us liberty or give us death."
Point 7 - Believing is God is the right thing to do.
Point 8 - A commitment to victory is a necessity.
a. use all of our resources
b. deny terrorists places of sanctuary and support
c. deny terrorists the chemical, biological and nuclear weapons they seek
d. work for freedom and reform in the Middle East
Point 9 - Truth is more important than peace
Point 10 - retreat is not an option when right is at stake.
Point 11 - Americans are proud of our military and the skill and courage with which they perform.
Point 12 - determination, perserverance, confidence, patience, dedication, preparation...in the end will determine that "the future belongs to the free."
