U.S. institutions could be more international.
1. In 2005, just over one-fourth of all the higher level colleges/universities in the States send NONE of their graduates overseas to study.

2. Just 37% of colleges require students to take a course with an international or global focus as part of their general education curriculum.
3. Less than two in five universities make reference to international/global education in their mission statements.
4. Most high ed institutions have NO full-time person to coordinate a global awareness.
5. Less than 20% of institutions have a foreign-language requirement for all undergrads.
