ComVu Demonstrates its Breakthrough Technology 'Mobile Video Studio' and Award-Winning PocketCaster at Mobius 2006 Event

The age of the citizen reporter is here, and lugging heavy camera equipment is no longer a requirement for broadcasting 'up-to-the-minute' breaking news, instead people can simply use pocket-sized Windows Mobile devices to transmit with ComVu PocketCaster to the Mobile Video Studio
Boston, MA (PRWEB) October 10, 2006 -- ComVu Media Inc., the enabler of mobile video broadcasting technologies, previewed its powerful new Mobile Video Studio at the exclusive Mobius 2006 events held in Boston, Massachusetts and Phuket, Thailand. Mobile Video Studio provides organizations with an end-to-end broadcast control solution. The breakthrough online service allows users to simultaneously monitor, manage and map multiple live streams.

ComVu's presentation demonstrated how multiple PocketCaster equipped Windows Mobile 5.0 devices could transmit their live video feed to the Mobile Video Studio, where incoming videos can all be simultaneously monitored. Any stream can dynamically be selected as the 'master broadcast' stream allowing for large-scale viewing on a website, blog, or mobile phone. The master video can also be used as a live video source to feed a traditional television broadcast.

All live streams are concurrently archived server-side by ComVu media servers and any archive may also be mixed within the master broadcast. Comprehensive meta data control, GPS indexing, multi-faceted search, one button viewer notification, security and RSS integration are all provided within the service offering.

"The age of the citizen reporter is here, and lugging heavy camera equipment is no longer a requirement for broadcasting 'up-to-the-minute' breaking news, instead people can simply use pocket-sized Windows Mobile devices to transmit with ComVu PocketCaster to the Mobile Video Studio," said William Mutual, CEO of ComVu Media. "With the forthcoming improvements in optics and imminent availability of 4G wireless networks, mobile video broadcasting is about to explode onto the scene. ComVu's end-to-end solutions will continue to lead the way in being at the forefront of this live video revolution."

By simply establishing a live broadcast with PocketCaster, users can connect to a designated TV station, web community or corporate website and deliver content directly, including the reporter's commentary on the event. For organizations most interested in tracking the location of field workers, automatic geo-tagged videos playback in one window beside a live satellite map showing the real-time movement of the broadcaster. The Company expects that additional features such as flexibility in network delivery, integration with corporate websites, and video play lists (ads) will provide vast opportunities in implementing ComVu's solutions by mobile operators, content providers, broadcasters and vertical market enterprises.

"Mobile video has landed on the scene with great response from mobile operators and users and we're excited to see an innovative company like ComVu take this concept one step further with practical video management tools," said John Dietz, group product manager, Microsoft Corporation. "With PocketCaster and Mobile Video Studio, ComVu is demonstrating the power and innovation of personal video broadcasting that's available today for anyone with a Windows Mobile 5.0 powered device."

ComVu sits at the forefront of converging developments in wireless and entertainment, where mobile phones are gaining high-end cameras and powerful processors, and where everyday people are creating and sharing their own content.
